Tall Timbers Retreat and Lodge is located just 8 miles from historic Nacogdoches, the oldest town in Texas. Tucked among towering pine trees on 30 peaceful wooded acres, it offers a place to gather, slow down, and reconnect. Really reconnect!
Tall Timbers is thoughtfully designed for large groups, retreats, family reunions, celebrations, and weddings. It is a place where everyone can stay together, share meals, and enjoy an entire weekend without rushing in different directions. The property includes five lodging cabins and accommodates up to 66 overnight guests. There are 16 bedrooms, five full kitchens, and a variety of layouts that provide both shared gathering areas and private space to unwind. All lodging stays require a two-night minimum.
Each cabin is equipped to support group stays and shared meals. Across the property, guests have access to five full kitchens, one in each cabin, along with 10 full bathrooms with showers and one half bath. Four cabins include laundry room access, making longer stays and larger gatherings more comfortable. Yellow Rose Lodge also includes an additional kitchenette for added flexibility.
Sleeping Overview
Across the property, there are 48 standard beds plus sleeper sofas. Bed types include singles, queens, kings, full beds, bunk beds, and sleeper sofas. Layouts vary by cabin and some spaces are shared, making Tall Timbers especially well-suited for organized groups and retreats where togetherness is part of the experience. Individual cabin layouts are available to help you find the right fit for your group.
Outdoor space is a big part of what makes Tall Timbers special. Guests can enjoy sand volleyball, cornhole, outdoor grills, swings, and rocking chairs throughout the grounds. There are multiple fire pits, including a large bonfire-sized pit that is perfect for evenings under the stars. A multi-purpose grass field may be used for baseball or soccer.
Porches are part of daily life at Tall Timbers. Morning coffee tastes better outside! Evenings stretch a little longer. Sit back, listen to the woods, and let conversations linger. The porches invite you to slow down and enjoy where you are.
Days here can be as active or as quiet as you choose. Organize group activities, explore the wooded acreage, or enjoy a quiet moment with a book. There is room to move and room to rest.
The retreat also includes Rose Hall, the on-site event center and dining hall. It serves as a natural gathering place for weddings, receptions, shared meals, meetings, and celebrations. Rose Hall may be included when the full property is reserved, rented hourly as a stand-alone space, or added to a multi-cabin package.
The barn and surrounding pastures add to the character of Tall Timbers. At times, horses may be boarded on site, enhancing the peaceful country setting and scenic views.
Tall Timbers is pet-friendly. Pet fees apply. Larger animals may be accommodated by inquiry and subject to availability.
Guests enjoy ample on-site parking, including space for large vehicles and trailers. RV accommodations are available, including one space with hookups and additional room for dry-camping RVs at a nightly rate.
Unless the full property is reserved, some outdoor areas may be shared with other guests or event groups in a respectful manner.
